Ottawa Reads is a website dedicated to introducing local readers to local authors! It was created in 2026 as a way to not only support more Canadian authors, but to encourage growth in our very own neighbourhoods. This catalogue was created not as a way to shop, but to help direct you to authors and novels you might be interested in.
Q: What counts as Ottawa Area?
A: Anywhere within a 30 minute drive to the border of Ottawa.
Q: Do you include A.I. generated books?
A: Ottawa Reads is strongly against Gen-Ai and will not knowingly accept any books that uses it.
Q: If my book was written by me but has an A.I. cover, will you accept that?
A: No. Writers and Artists are supposed to be a team, Ottawa Reads is not interested in breaking that trust.
Q: Does it cost anything to add my book to the bookshelf?
A: At this very moment, no it does not. Depending on how many requests we receive and how much time and effort, there may be a small fee in the future. Ottawa Reads' goal is to keep fees low for authors while not overwork its team (me. I'm just a wee thing.)
